210327 - Martial Arts For Youth
All of us at Creighton Martial Arts focus on the health and safety of all of our students and families as our highest priority. To achieve this goal, we must make changes based on the new challenges that we are currently facing. All of our classes will require social distancing, masks and temperature checks before the classes begin. We will be making modifications to our curriculum to adapt to the current challenges that COVID has presented to us. All classes will have minimal contact to comply with NYS requirements.
Sections 01-03: This class is designed strictly for new students and current white belts. We will focus on character building, leadership skills, goal setting and constant and never-ending improvement. This means that in addition to learning traditional techniques of the martial arts, children are also taught the importance of respect, self-confidence, self-esteem and anger management. We strive to provide each student with a positive image on how they behave in the dojo (training hall), home, and school. The introduction program is designed to prepare each student for their yellow belt training, so that they can further their martial arts training in our year-round colored belts program. Sections 04-09 [COLORED BELTS ONLY]: This advanced martial arts for kids program is a continuation of training after completion of Level I introduction to the martial arts for children program. Students signing up for this program must have already achieved their yellow belt in Goshin Jutsu. After building a basic foundation of the martial arts in the introduction program, students in the advanced program are seeking to further their training by learning different colored belt requirements within the curriculum. The main emphasis in this program is to focus on the concept of "constant and never-ending improvement". Dancers advance into Beginner 2 to learn all the soft shoe dances. Parents are invited to our performance on the last day of class! Dancers must have taken "Irish Dance for Little Leprechauns" or "Irish Dance- The Reel Sport" or received permission from the instructor to register.
Novice and Championship classes will master both soft and hard shoe dances. Dancers must receive permission from the instructor to register.

This sensory and science class will thrill your young children. They get to explore a variety of materials with their senses. They will explore slimy things, ooey gooey things, wet and dry things, rough and smooth things and more! They will experience chemistry and physics as they play and explore the natural materials provided. Things will go fizzle and pop, things will go fast and slow, things will roll and fly! Children will learn concepts such as absorption, displacement, measurement, cause and effect, sensory and tactile awareness, solid, liquid, suspension, drainage, conservation, volume, mass, saturation, estimation, and the learning goes on and on.

210435 - Irish Hurling Skills
Learn to play the ancient sport of Hurling! Described as “the fastest game on grass,” hurling has been played in Ireland for at least 4,000 years. It is now one of the fastest growing sports in America with new clubs sprouting up everywhere, including here in Rochester. Combining the skills learned playing lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, and baseball, hurling is a full body workout. Come learn the basic skills that it takes to begin playing the game. This four session class lays the foundation on which to build your skills in order to play the game of hurling. This process oriented art class is so much fun for young children. Not only do they make beautiful works of art, but they will explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) concepts through the process. They will make art by using catapults, bouncing and throwing, rolling and shaking, gluing and pasting, blowing and pulling, whacking and smacking, sticking and stacking, and more! Children learn: pre-writing skills, fine motor skills/ hand-eye coordination, color identification, saturation, patterning, color mixing to make new colors, creativity, symmetry, negative/positive space, cause and effect, and the learning goes on and on.

211201 - Baby Blades Ice Skating
Introduce your baby to the ice! For itty bitty “Learn to Skaters,” @ Village Sports is offering Baby Blades Ice Skating. The “Baby Blades” program is designed to get young children excited about being on the ice! Introduce your child to skating in a fun way! Kids get a chance to play on the ice and much more. An additional fee of $17.25 per child for U.S. Figure Skating must be paid at your first class, prior to skating.
Classes are divided into two, 25-minute group sessions. There will be a 25-minute instructional period where the instructor will cover topics such as falling down, getting up, marching in place and moving, backward wiggles, stopping and more. The remaining 25 minutes will be designated for free-skate practicing and games with some assistance from helpers. Skaters should bring gloves, leggings, snow pants, and other warm clothes. Helmets are strongly recommended.

This flag football league is geared towards all experience levels and is meant to build a strong foundation of learning through the game of football. Each week, participants will receive in-game experience. Games will be one hour long, with two 20-minute halves and a 20-minute practice prior to the start of the game. The focus will be on preparing kids for the contact leagues through teaching game basics, safety, and football fundamentals. 211314 - Preschool Adventures
Preschool Adventures is a unique class that is designed as a non-stressful way for children to be introduced to the preschool experience. Each week is centered on a theme. The class begins with a story to introduce the children to that day’s lesson. Often we have finger-plays or a song at this time as well. Then the child and their adult will rotate through 4-5 tables which contain age appropriate crafts and activities. Everything is open ended and creative, as well as relates back to the day’s theme. We close with a large motor activity and the goodbye song. Students will be able to practice listening to a teacher, following directions, and using classroom materials in a fun environment with their parent present. Please wear sneakers and a smock or old clothes.

Let's celebrate the season together! We will experiment with different ways to color eggs, and create a cute basket to carry them home in. Everyone will make their own bunny snack, listen to a story and have a hopping good time!

We will read, "I'm Gonna Like Me!", trace and decorate our bodies on paper, and make a family tree. Everyone
will talk about what makes each of us unique, while exploring together.

Messy and clean, hot and cold, big and little. We will explore them all! Everyone will listen to a story, and rotate through crafts and activities together, that spray, bubble, and fizz!
Kitchen Fun
We will have a enjoy a story together and rotate through stations where we will make 3 kitchen crafts, and use our senses to explore and experiment with different materials.
Celebrate Spring
Let’s celebrate the change of seasons by learning about the colors in the rainbow. We will make our own sculptures, windsock, and butterfly. Then we will snack on painted toast and homemade butter. Children and their adult will participate in listening to a story, using our imaginations and having fun.
Are You My Mother?
Children love P.D. Eastman’s classic story about the little lost bird. In this class, we will make our own cute bird’s nests, and decorate paper eggs. We will play games and sing some songs!
Water Science
We will read, “What Floats in a Moat,” and experiment with the way different objects react to water. Everyone will make a boat, lava lamp, and chalk prints.
Bugs
Come explore the wonderful world of insects! We will learn about the different parts of these tiny creatures and go on an indoor bug hunt. We will create some eight legged art projects, make and eat a healthy “bug” snack, listen to a story and explore large and small motor activities together.

Creative classes for kids to make custom accessories for their dolls. (Any doll 18" or smaller is welcome.) Please bring a sharp pair of scissors to class.
Interior Design: We will make a 3 sided room and decorate it with wallpaper, flooring and fun decorative accessories.
Sleeping Bags and S’mores: Does your doll love an adventure? We’ll set up miniature camp fires and assemble toy sized s’mores. Then use some cozy fleece to create a miniature sleeping bag.
Unicorn Fun: We will make unicorn accessories for your doll to wear, “eat” and enjoy. Projects will include a doll sized unicorn horn headband, shoes, cupcake and mug of colorful hot chocolate.

211318 - Child Watch
Children ages 2-5 years enjoy arts & crafts, dance & music, and creative play!
Due to COVID-19 pre-registration & payment will be required weekly. Participant wellness checks will be conducted daily and group sizes will be limited.
Families must provide food and drinks for each child (no peanut products please!) as well as diapers, wipes, and a spare set of clothing.
