210515 - The Show Must Go Online!

It breaks our heart to hear that so many theatre performances have been postponed or cancelled. This means thousands of young actors out there won’t get a chance to take the stage for their final performance. In response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, here are a few ways for actors to work together as an ensemble to put on a show – while staying safe in their own homes. The rehearsal schedule will be based on your child’s availability. There will be ten online sessions over a 5week period, they will consist of group and solo classes. This will allow us to be flexible working around their online schooling and other activities.

In this first-of-its kind musical, each actor will receive a 1-2 minute scene/song to rehearse, video record, and upload. When all the videos are played in order, they tell the hilarious story of a group of passionate students desperate to keep their annual musical alive...online!

A frazzled Drama Teacher sends a video message to students, announcing that their production has been canceled! The Drama Teacher tries to hang up, but accidentally leaves the camera running while receiving a phone call from the principal who tells the teacher: without the musical, the drama program will be shut down. This sparks the students to save their Drama program! The Drama Teacher closes out the show and congratulates the cast and crew on a wonderful virtual production. The DRAMA TEACHER gets a call from the principal and learns the drama program has been saved!

This is a great opportunity for cast members to stay connected, make new friends and learn the value of team-work. The result will be a comedic and fun storyline designed to lift spirits when we all need it the most and the kids will enjoy this special musical!

The instructor will email participants directions on how to access this class online.

Preschool Adventures is a unique class that is designed as a non-stressful way for children to be introduced to the preschool experience. Each week is centered on a theme. The class begins with a story to introduce the children to that day’s lesson. Often we have finger-plays or a song at this time as well. Then the child and their adult will rotate through 4-5 tables which contain age appropriate crafts and activities. Everything is open ended and creative, as well as relates back to the day’s theme. We close with a large motor activity and the goodbye song. Students will be able to practice listening to a teacher, following directions, and using classroom materials in a fun environment with their parent present. Vocal Lessons focus on how to warm up your voice safely, breath support, posture, performance confidence, music theory, and learning songs that fit student's goals. Voice lessons help people in many ways other than just singing. They can help a shy individual to come out of their shell. Voice lessons build confidence when they need to stand in front of a room of people to deliver a report for class, a lecture to a professional group or a presentation to a large company. They develop tone, delivery and inflection as we speak and sing.
Annual recital for students to perform repertoire.
