110904 - SAT Prep
This course is designed to give high school students the necessary skills to be prepared for the Spring SAT exam. It is intended for juniors and seniors who plan to take the SAT on May 6. The course is taught classroom style by two veteran and highly regarded classroom teachers, Scott Bielec & Rich Kelly. Rich is a long time math teacher at Pittsford Mendon High School. Rich has been chosen as the Mendon High School Teacher of the Year and has been recognized by RIT as an outstanding secondary teacher. Scott Bielec teaches English at Pittsford Mendon. Entering his eight year, he teaches 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. The course provides a comprehensive overview of the SAT exam as well as teaching critical test taking strategies to help ensure success. This class provides an opportunity to become fully prepared for the exam and to learn more about the SAT format from professional educators.

210952 - Learn A New Language
These 2 month classes are a fun but efficient way to learn a new language. The small group settings are led by VFC World's NATIVE SPEAKING instructors who all have extensive teaching experience (whether in area colleges or private language institutions). In these introductory classes, focus will be on building basic skills and vocabulary, and basic grammar structures with an emphasis on conversation, listening comprehension and culture.
Designed for students with no or little previous experience in the language. Homework/homework material optional.
No classes on Monday 4/17 and Tuesday 4/18.
Classes are subject to cancellation if enrollment is insufficient.

Empire Safety Council, New York State and DMV approved, offers two great ways to save for New York State licensed drivers. First, complete this informative six hour workshop and receive a 10% reduction on the liability and collision premiums of your auto insurance for three years. Each member of a family completing the workshop is also entitled to the 10% reduction provided they are a primary operator on a vehicle listed on the policy. Secondly, you may be eligible to reduce up to four points on your driving record. An experienced certified instructor will lead the program using a wide array of teaching techniques appealing to motorists of all ages. The focus of the Traffic Survival Workshop is developing improved driving awareness, prevention skills and defensive driving strategies. Saturday courses will break for a ½ hour lunch. Please bring your own beverage.

220909 - Puppy K & Teen Puppy Obedience
Puppies need a good foundation and head start in life. Learn basic manners: sit, down, wait, recall, drop it, loose leash walking without pulling. Solve and prevent behavior problems: barking, jumping, chewing, digging, biting. You will learn how to be your puppy’s leader, how to avoid problems before they start, and how to change your puppy’s inappropriate behavior through positive reinforcement. You will learn how puppies think and process information. Puppies must be dog and people friendly. Proof of vaccinations is required at the first class. Do NOT bring your puppy to the first class! Mr. Arena is a 2005 honors graduate of RIT with 15 years of experience in the tech field. His tongue-in-cheek teaching style will keep you interested. Staging, pricing, and updates will be discussed to obtain the maximum profit in the shortest amount of time for the Seller. Discussion will include strategies and options such as reverse mortgages. Participants will also learn tips on vacation purchases both within the US and abroad. Discussion will include mortgage options, benefits of Buyer agency, pitfalls, inspections, and certain legal issues.

We will cover the basics of digital cameras including: Shutter speed, aperture, ISO, file type, lens types, and basic on and off camera flash. We will learn basics of composition and how to critique our work to become better photographers. At the end of the session, we will print our best work for an end of session show for our friends and family.

240924 - Cemetery Tour
Town & Village Historian Audrey Johnson and Illuminated History genealogist Vicki Profitt will discuss the history of Pittsford Cemetery and the early residents buried there. Participants are to meet the instructors at the cemetery flagpole. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for rain.
Pittsford Cemetery is located on East Avenue in the Village of Pittsford with entrances on Washington Rd.
