310934 - Write Your College Ap Essay

Every high school senior has to write an essay for college applications—sometimes more than one. In this course, we will discuss what colleges expect from students, look at model essays, study the Common Application, and talk about the application process in general. The primary focus of the class, however, is writing the application essay. Students will also have one-to-one conferences with the teacher during class and draft essays will be carefully reviewed multiple times. By the end of the week, each student will complete at least one application essay. Students will need a laptop for the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday sessions of class. Students must be entering their Senior year in the 2017-2018 school year to enroll in this program.

320959 - Is Pet Insurance Worth It?

Many pet owners are faced with the heartbreaking decision to have to euthanize a beloved pet simply because they do not have the money for expensive treatments after an accident or illness. Most of us wouldn’t dream of not having our own medical or home insurance, but hesitate to get medical insurance for our pets. In the past, there have been so many exclusions and exceptions that the industry got a bad reputation. Now, there are many more competitors and the coverage can be excellent - if you choose the right policy. This class will review what to look for in a policy, approximate costs, deductibles, pre-existing conditions, illnesses covered, alternative treatments, and dental coverage.
