    Let’s Grow a Garden: We will make our own garden, complete with “plantable” fruits and vegetables, and tile bird bath to place nearby.

    Back to School: In this class, we will decorate a classroom backdrop and make a school bag filled with accessories for our doll to be ready for the first day of school.

    410226 - American Girl Doll Club

    Dining Dolls: We'll make our dolls a dining room table, including place settings, drinks, candlesticks, salt and pepper shakers, a napkin holder and a centerpiece to stage the perfect meal.

    Little Chef: Our dolls will become "Little Chefs", activities include experimenting with clay, felt and foam to "cook up" our own food. Children will be able to make an entire meal and some treats for their dolls to enjoy.

    Celebrate the Season: In this class we will be decorating a doll sized Christmas tree and making a “working” fireplace to hang some stockings.

    411401 - The After School Program

    Are you in need of a recreational after school program for your child to attend once the school day has ended? The After School Program provides a quality, fun and safe recreational environment for your child, grades K-5. Participants will be placed into groups according to age and/or grade level. Activities include arts and crafts, free play, quiet time and playtime in our gym or outside on our playground. A daily snack is provided. Payment for this program will be monthly. The program is closed on school breaks and holidays, however it is open on school scheduled half days. Fun Camps and Fun Camp Days are available for children to attend on school breaks and holidays (registration and additional fees are required).     411403 - December Fun Camp

    Looking for something fun and exciting for your child to do over the holiday break? Fun camp days will be full of fun activities and games for all ages to enjoy. Theme days, arts and crafts, outdoor play and time in our gym are just a few of the activities that will take place. Participants must bring a non-perishable lunch and an afternoon snack. Please make sure to have your child dressed for outdoor weather (hat, gloves, boots, etc.) Register early as this program does fill quickly.     411405 - ARC Babysitter's Training

    This course is designed to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business; keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. Each student will receive an American Red Cross Babysitter’s Kit and a certificate stating they successfully completed the program. Students are required to provide an email address that certificates can be sent to. Please bring a brown bag lunch. Participants can purchase a fully equipped first aid kit for babysitters $15 at class time.

    This program equips children ages 8-12 with the knowledge about home alone safety and accident prevention. Participants will learn how to answer the phone and front door safely, basic first aid, become aware of potential household hazards and much more. Participants will go home with a house rules sheet to complete with their family. Participants will role play stranger-danger scenarios to learn how to stay safe. The program will end with a 15 minute question and answer period to ensure each child leaves knowing what to do to stay safe!

    Every Chanukah needs a menorah, and this season you can create your own with LED lights! Learn all about parallel circuits, conductive materials and translucent materials while building your own electric, modern menorah to take home for the holiday.

    Every Kwanzaa needs a kinara, and this season you can create your own with LED lights! Learn all about translucency, circuitry, electricity and more while building an electric, modern kinara to take home for the holiday.

    Every Christmas needs a tree, and this season you can create your own with LED lights! Learn all about parallel circuits, stable structures, bases and properties of light while decorating and personalizing your own electric tree to take home for the holiday.

    411416 - First Aid for Kids

    This course teaches 8-14 year olds the skills and techniques necessary to respond to a variety of first aid related emergencies including: bleeding control, choking, burns, care for sprains and breaks and treatment for heat and cold emergencies. To help participants better understand common medical conditions that their friends may suffer from; we will also cover the following: food allergies, diabetes, seizures and asthma. This course helps meet requirements for many boy/girl scout badges.

    411417 - Mealtime Manners I

    Our Mealtime Manners class has been restructured to keep fun and learning abounding while staying mindful of health and safety guidelines. We will have interactive games & activities with lots of learning & fun with prizes to hand out! Our very popular napkin folding (napkin origami) is a one of our class highlights. We will be serving food to practice mealtime manners with a variety of precut fresh fruits prepackage from a local grocery store. And, we will serve a simple dessert as well! Everyone takes home a favor.
    (All our classes are designed toward education standards, focusing on the arts that target imagination and creativity.)* We have educators on staff that we consult directly as we design each class.

    411423 - RFDL Bday Party

    The Rochester Foam Dart League and Pittsford Recreation have teamed up to offer a one of a kind party experience! Enjoy a custom Nerf battlefield, all equipment including safety glasses, jerseys, ammo, and blasters provided by the RFDL. Utilize the state of the art space in Pittsford for a 1 hour battle in the gym, followed by 1 hour in the party room. Pizza, decorations, paper goods, and party hosts will be included. Up to 20 children

    411428 - College Interview Etiquette

    This class consists of covering steps that help you “stand out” in your college interview. This three step program covers:
    1. Preparing for the Interviewing: Asking questions, dressing for success, what to bring (your portfolio) and more.
    2. Acing the Interviews: Posture, eye contact, answering and conversation details, saying good-bye and additional non-verbal communication.
    3. Writing the perfect “thank you note.”: “Thank you” note basics, practice writing a "Thank You" note, timing details and more.
    Susan Vernick is the founder and owner of Etiquette Chics, and is often featured on local television and writes an etiquette column for The Post and other publications. She also holds a master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education and has worked in administration in both the public and private college level.
